Welcome to Chateau Montaiguillon

Exceptional Vineyard

On top of a hill, overlooking the region, Chateau Montaiguillon is adjacent to the appellations of Pomerol and Saint Emilion, hence neighbouring the Grands Crus Classés. Belonging principally to the appellation Montagne Saint Emilion, the Chateau also stretches over two acres within the Saint Georges Saint Emilion, the rarest appellation of all Bordeaux wines. Sharing location and expertise with some of the most prestigious Chateaux in the world, Chateau Montaiguillon holds a unique position across the Saint Emilion landscape.

A contraction of “Montagne” (Mountain) and “Aiguillon” (Needle), this domain sits on the heights of the Grands Crus region – exceptional views for tourists, but also ideal exposure to the southern sun for the mountainous terrains. This altitude gifts Montaiguillon with an astonishingly stable climate, perfectly suited for consistent and sustainable wine production of the highest standard.

The terroir of clay and limestone, the naturally efficacious drainage, a balanced assemblage, and the serendipitous exposure of the vineyard are some of the characteristics that lead to Montaiguillon’s wines’ unique qualities. The hills’ slopes ensure an excellent flow of water, nourishing all parts of the vineyard during the summer.

Combined with a sustainable treatment of the vineyard, this terroir favours an alliance between power and minerality that is reflected in the Montaiguillon wines, year after year.
